Alberta Dreams is a registered charity right here in Alberta dedicated to fulfilling the dreams of children aged 3 to 18 who are diagnosed with severe chronic or life-threatening medical illnesses. Originally established in 1986 as the Rainbow Society of Alberta, the organization recently rebranded in 2023 to better reflect its mission of bringing hope and joy to children facing significant health challenges. Unlike many wish-granting organizations, Alberta Dreams uniquely includes children with chronic illnesses in its mandate, recognizing that these conditions can be just as life-altering and deserving of support as terminal diagnoses.
The organization believes that granting a child’s dream can provide a much-needed respite from the daily hardships of illness, offering moments of joy and hope. Whether it’s a family trip, a special gift, or an unforgettable experience, these dreams serve as powerful catalysts, boosting the emotional and physical well-being of the child and their family.
