Melissa chose an organization unique to The Streets Initiative when she decided on one that is focused on helping teens. Specifically, the Terra Centre supports pregnant teens, teen mothers, and young parents and their children. This Non-profit charity was established in 1971 and they provide a wide range of programs and services aimed at helping young families navigate challenges related to parenting, education, and employment. The center offers resources such as counselling, life skills training, and childcare services. They strive to foster a supportive environment for personal growth and development.
The Terra Center’s initiatives often include workshops, mentorship opportunities, and community events that promote social connection and skill-building. By empowering young parents, the center plays a crucial role in breaking cycles of poverty and enhancing the overall well being of families in Edmonton and the surrounding area. Through collaboration with other community organizations and stakeholders, Terra Center continues to adapt and respond to the evolving needs of its clients. If you’re as excited to help out this awesome crew as much as I am, feel free to tap on this link and make a donation: https://thestreetsinitiative.org/edmontonians-love-donating/
There are other ways to help other than just monetary donations also. The Terra Center is always looking for volunteers as well as in-kind donations. For more information on Terra Center please visit http://www.terracentre.ca. Thanks everyone for your continued support!
