Every day, 60 Albertans hear the words “you have cancer”. Those three words have immense power to turn any life upside down. The rollercoaster of emotions that follows a cancer diagnosis, combined with the medical interventions such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiation are very challenging for patients, as well as their families.
Wellspring Edmonton is a community-driven, not-for-profit organization right here in our city, that offers non-medical support services for people affected by cancer. All programs, services & resources are offered free of charge and without a referral. At Wellspring Edmonton, the focus is on the person, not the disease. Through programs that include coping skills, expressive arts and music, group and individual support, health restoration such as exercise and yoga, nutrition, returning to work and peer support, the organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those living with cancer.
Their centre is located at 11306-65 ave. Wellspring Edmonton receives no core government, health and agency funding and it relies heavily on community support and private donations. Wellspring Edmonton’s cancer support programs touch so many people to help them on their cancer journeys. Together, with your support they can ensure that continues.
