A new month means a new Edmontonian picking a charity for The Streets Initiative. Last month, $820 was raised for Kids With Cancer — a big thanks to Nik for choosing them and to everyone who contributed!
This month, I’m excited to introduce you to Kelly Duttenhoffer — my sister-in-law and an all-around solid human being. Technically, Kelly lives in St. Albert, but if that works for me, I’m sure it works for you. And it definitely works for Operation Friendship Seniors Society, a local charity that supports seniors in need of a helping hand.
Kelly is a single mother and works as a surface land administrator for a major oil and gas company. If you’re not familiar with that role, she’s one of the people who makes it possible for pipelines and other infrastructure projects to exist here in Alberta. Need someone to secure surface leases or dig into a land title search? Kelly’s your go-to — and she gets it DONE.
Beyond her work, Kelly is the kind of person who’s always ready to help, no matter the situation (unless, of course, Selling Sunset or Love is Blind is on — then you may have to wait 20 minutes). Her only real flaw? A love of bad TV.
Recently, Kelly joined her mom on a bus tour through California, Oregon, and Washington. The bus was full of seniors — a group she connects with very easily. Her upbeat personality and genuine nature make her easy to trust, even among people who’ve seen just about everything. It’s no surprise, then, that she chose a charity supporting seniors.
