Kyley’s choice for November and December donations is CASA

For the period of November and December 2021, Kyley chose CASA as the recipient for The Streets Initiative’s pledges. Focused on infants, children, and adolescents, CASA is committed to the advancement of mental health through family centered clinical services, education, and research. Using a family centered approach to nurture healthy relationships, they focus on building strong family foundations through a variety of different methods.

Their website is a treasure trove of resources and information for anyone struggling with mental health whether it’s a parent, friend, or the individual themselves. A large variety of clinical based and outreach programs are available through CASA including the PiResidence program which offers free peer support to struggling families from people who have been in similar situations. I was also interested to read about the Snoezelen room they have, which is a controlled multisensory environment that can be tailor made with specific sounds, scents, and lighting to be used as a form of therapy for people with autism or other developmental disabilities.

A large resource bank is available on a variety of mental health topics, and CASA also has a series of webcasts available via their site that focuses on many of the mental health concerns that have arisen as a result of COVID19. You can visit this very worthy organization’s website at  https://www.casaservices.org/ for more information!
