If you’ve been involved in the local running scene in Edmonton over the last several years, there is a pretty good chance you have bumped into Lucas Hansen. The 33 year old tax accountant living in Edmonton’s west end is an avid cyclist and runner who is frequently out with many of the City’s running clubs including The November Project and Run Collective, among others. When I got together with Lucas, we had our own little run club going with the two of us and also his son, Ben, and dog, Pepper. The four of us explored a bit of the city on a pretty fun 13km route.
As he mentions in the video below, Lucas has been able to prioritize clean living after undergoing treatment in a recovery program similar to one his chosen charity for the month, Our House Edmonton offers. It’s always very inspiring to me when somebody is able to overcome difficult situations and improve their life as it requires a tremendous amount of determination, tenacity, and mental fortitude to be able to accomplish this. Let’s all show support for Lucas and donate to this very worthy cause!
