Introducing the newest Featured Edmontonian for May and June 2024, Patrick Dower! You may have noticed I don’t have a picture of Patrick posted (this is now taken care of), and that’s because I forgot to take one. In my entire life, nobody has ever accused me of having a good memory, but be patient, Patrick is one good lookin’ SOB. The local resident of Sherwood Park works as a safety advisor in Edmonton’s Oil and Gas Industry but originally hails from Ontario. I know this because we work together and I try my best to drive Pat nuts on a daily basis! Work as a plumber in his home town dried up, so out to Alberta Pat came, and it was mostly a benefit to the St. Albert Kinsmen Club where Pat was an active member and continued his service with them after moving here. You may have heard of The Rainmaker out in St.Albert (Feel the Thunder!!) and it’s Pat that is responsible for bringing in the line up of musical acts that perform onstage. For those who haven’t heard of it or have never gone, it’s a pretty awesome annual Rodeo and festival that is tons of fun and always brings in a good slate of musical acts every year. Everyone should go check it out.
Currently serving as the Chairman of the District 4 Foundation, this upstanding member of our community has been the recipient of both the National Outstanding Kin Award and also the Queens Platinum Jubilee Medal. The first is an award recognizing a single deserving member out of the 8000 Kinsmen club members across Canada, and the latter an award handed out to citizens that are recognized as making a positive contribution to their communities. National Outstanding Kin Award Queens Platinum Jubilee. All donations that come in over the next two months will be directed towards the Edmonton Kinettes, and if you would like to make a donation (which you totally should), thanks very much, and just follow the link:
